Actress Eugene resigns from upcoming drama to tend to younger sister's injuries after car accident

Actress Eugene was recently confirmed to be starring in an upcoming drama, titled "Color of a Woman". More recently it was confirmed that she has stopped filming for the drama in order to tend to her younger sister, Kim Yookyung, who is suffering from injuries incurred in an unfortunate car accident.

Yookyung had been standing behind her parked car when the car began to slip down the hill it was parked on due to the road condition. She subsequently became trapped under the car.

Yookyung's injuries include full-body bruising and spinal fractures on three of her vertebrae. She was brought to the nearest emergency room after her accident, and will transfer to another hospital after her condition is confirmed to be stable. As of now, Yookyung is located in a hospital in Guam.

Eugene met with the drama producers beforehand, who agreed that resignation would be best for her situation. She has since expressed a sincere apology towards the drama production staff, as well as her fans, for her unexpected leave of absence.

In turn, fans have been very supportive of her situation and have offered their condolences and well-wishes. The drama production staff has stated, “We are extremely disappointed to lose Eugene as our lead, but we wish her sister a fast recovery. We are currently in the search for an actress who can play the role of confident career-woman Byun Sora, and will select someone who can meet fans’ high expectations.”
