2NE1 continues to gain interest from the international press after being recently featured by British broadcasting agency, BBC. On December 16, BBC World's segment "Newsday" featured a short interview with the group, after winning MTV Iggy's "Best New Band Of The Year".
On BBC's official homepage, 2NE1 was introduced as, "South Korean pop band 2NE1 are receiving global attention after being voted New Band of the Year by MTV viewers in New York.Singer CL told the BBC that despite the award she did no't think her band had had success yet. The all-girl group formed in 2009."
Representing 2NE1 for the segment, CL was interviewed by the show's segment host Rico Hizon. CL talked about their thoughts on the award given by MTV and the success in the music industry despite only joining the business two years ago. More on, CL also tackled the issue on Kpop's popularity outside of Asia, further stating that they would love to represent South Korea and continue the Korean wave.
