"King 2 Hearts" holds official press conference

Ahead of their actual air date, upcoming drama "King 2 Hearts" officially launched their new project to the press today. The drama which stars Lee Seunggi and Ha Jiwon is said to be feeling the pressure as they replace MBC's recent hit "The Moon That Embraces the Sun." 

At the drama's press conference, Lee Seunggi talked about his new role and third acting stint, as well as acting alongside Ha Jiwon. However, the press conference also gave him the chance to address the real reason behind his departure from variety shows "1 Night and 2 Days" and "Strong Heart." 

While some reports speculate that he dropped the two projects because of "King 2 Hearts," Lee Seunggi stated that, "I thought I still had a lot to learn in the realm of entertainment so I felt it would be a bit tough for me to carry the show off on my own. This all ended up coinciding with this drama, so people might think I quit because of this series but that is not the case." 

He also explained that leaving "1 Night and 2 Days" was already decided in advance while "Strong Heart" was just an extension his original contract. When asked about his plans in enlisting in the military, Lee Seunggi revealed that it is still too early to set a specific date. 

Meanwhile, Ha Jiwon also talked about her experience in working with Lee Seunggi and revealed that the age gap between them didn't bother her at all. Having an eight year age gap between them, Ha Jiwon revealed that their age was the biggest difference between her and her previous co-stars. She was then quoted saying, “Working with him on set, though, put me at ease because he does not act that young, sometimes he even feels like an older brother to me. It is more comfortable than expected." 

One of the "King 2 Hearts" directors, Lee Jaekyu, also revealed that the two recently filmed a kissing scene and stated that it wasn't awkward at all. 

"King 2 Hearts" will start airing on March 21st on MBC.
