Previously announcing the plans of filming Jang Geunsuk's activities as the new star of the Korean wave, KBS confirmed the broadcast date of the documentary featuring the actor. On December 16, KBS announced that they plan to air the special documentary titled "Star documentary - Center of the new Hallyu, I am Jang Geunsuk" on New Year's Day.The documentary is set to air Jang Geunsuk's activities for the past two months in Japan, where he held his concert tour. It will also reveal footage taken from his concert stages in Nagoya Osaka, Saitama as well as his last stage in Tokyo Dome, Tokyo.
Other clips include moments from his concerts in which more than 60,000 of his fans attended as well as Jang Geunsuk's other activities in South Korea and Japan. There will also be a media critics interview for the program, as they discuss on how Jang Geunsuk was able to achieve such feat abroad.
Jang Geunsuk's personal moments were also captured in the documentary, as cameras followed while he working for the newly established agency, Tree J Company.
Further, a representative from KBS stated that "Through the documentary we look at Jang's past, present and future bearing in mind his influence on the Korean Wave. Through the program we have tried to guess just how far the wave will spread out".
"Star documentary - Center of the new Hallyu, I am Jang Geunsuk" will air on KBS on January 1, 2012.
