Six member group Supernova will be appearing on stage as a five member group since the enlisting of their leader last October.
On January 11th and 12th, many different kpop artists will be joining their fans for the upcoming "26th Golden Disk Awards" ceremony. The performance of Supernova in the upcoming event is receiving great interest as it's one of their first appearances on a Korean show since their Korean comeback with "On the Days that I Missed You" in the summer of 2010. Apart from their little activities on the Korean music scene, it'll also be their first official stage as a five member group.
Thanks to their rising popularity in Japan, Supernova was added to the list of guests and performers for this year's "Golden Disk Awards". It'll be the first time since their debut in 2007, that the group will be featured on the awards show. The group is said to be preparing a special stage, and were honored to have been invited to the ceremony. They were quoted saying, "It is an honor to receive an invitation to perform at the Golden Disk Awards, since it’s an event that it’s regarded so greatly by singers".
A representative from their company Maroo, a sub company of Core Contents Media, stated that "This stage has a really high significance as it’s the members’ first stage after Yoonhak’s enlistment. The song ‘On The Days That I Missed You’ is being rearranged and we are planning a totally new performance that hasn’t been showed before".
The secretariat from the event itself commented that Supernova was added to the list of performers due to their great results in Japan. "They received an invitation to the event which will be in Japan, since they qualify as top Hallyu Star. They are nominated for a special award as they have widely extended KPOP overseas. They are also ranking high positions in the popularity poll for local Japanese fans, which is proof of their popularity.”
The "26th Golden Disk Awards" ceremony will be held at the Osaka Kyocera Dome in Japan, and has already gathered a line-up of top Korean stars including KARA, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, CNBLUE, FT Island, BEAST and as mentioned above, Supernova.
