The Golden Disk Awards, known as the "Korean Grammy Awards", will be holding their 26th annual awards ceremony in Japan this year. It will be held in the Osaka Dome on January 11th and 12th. The event, sponsored by Ilgan Sports, has been in planning for a few years now but they have finally decided to make it a reality.

Korea is heading to Japan with this special event, as the country has been supportive of the Hallyu Wave and K-Pop music. The ceremony will be directed by MBC's producer Go Jaehyung.

This overseas awards show will be an important event to new cable channel jTBC, which possesses the rights to broadcast it. Since the Golden Disk Awards' launch in 1986, this is the first time the awards ceremony will be held overseas. Tune in to watch or livestream to find out who is on the top this year, based on album sales, digital sales, and voting.
