IU talks about her upcoming Japanese debut

Following the release of her official music video and second studio album "Last Fantasy" in South Korea, IU spoke about her thoughts on her upcoming debut in Japan. On a recent three part interview with Herald Biz, IU revealed that she is trying not to feel burdened but promised to think of it as a great opportunity.

On the said interview, she confessed that, "It's true I'm worried about whether it'll be difficult since I'm not strong in my performance. I want not just Korean but also Japanese fans to know my name and my songs and I think of this as a great opportunity."

When asked about her existing fans in Japan, she stated that, "I want to get closer to them and just sing for them, so I'm trying not to feel burdened."

Meanwhile, IU recently signed an exclusive contract with EMI Japan which promotes artists such as Matsutoya Yumi, Utada Hikaru, Sheena Ringo and other stars. EMI Japan is set to hold a showcase in Tokyo, Japan in January, prior to the release of her official Japanse debut single in February.
