The K-Pop craze hits India

The K-Pop wind is blowing heavily now even in India. In India where the greatly popular "Bollywood" phenomenon (the film industry based off of America's Hollywood but combining movies with music) is growing, K-Pop has been able to start growing steadily.

In England's famous BBC channel has recently reported of the K-Pop wave effect on India under the title of "A Small Korea in India."

According to BBC, DVDs of popular dramas, such as KBS "Boys Over Flowers," are being sold in various areas of India. "Boys Over Flowers" was highly popular throughout Asia when it first came out in 2009 and remains as one of the well known dramas today.

One youth from India stated, "Many of Korea's dramas take love as the main concept and create wonderful products who's popularity is able to spread out quickly."

There have also been reports that the number of youths in India following the fashion of Korean celebrities has been growing.

BBC stated, "There have been many instances when the fashion and hairstyles of Korean stars have been replicated," and showed a photo of the singer Kim Hyunjoong on the window of a salon.

Meanwhile, it has been known that K-Pop has been active in many countries throughout Japan, China, Spain, England, Brazil, and throughout other countries in Europe, in addition to the U.S.
