A Pink, let’s have a closer look

“Hahaha~”
All seven members simultaneously turn their shining eyes and burst out laughing. Is it because they are still young and even laugh at leaves falling? Or is it because they are excited to perform on stage again.
Girl group A Pink that debuted in April, recently released their second mini album “Snow Pink.” With their début song “I Don’t Know,” they captivated men’s hearts and became a synonym for ‘pure and innocence.’ This time, they will reappear as ‘Winter Fairies.’
“I didn’t perform on the comeback stage yet, but I can tell that I can keep my composure now. During the activities on our first album, I could only do what I have prepared, and I felt awkward looking at the camera. But, I can smile comfortably now. I think I improved because I performed a lot with our first album.” (Bomi)
Despite their hectic schedule, and dance practice, seven girls never lost their smiles during the interview that was held for more than one hour. Even stiff and unfriendly reporter couldn’t help himself but smile in front of them. When asked to introduce their new album, they showed a little of their new choreography.
“There are lots of interesting dance moves in this album’s choreography. There are ‘driving dance,’ ‘V Line dance,’ and ‘timid confession dance.’ Many people seem to recognize our choreography maybe because our dance moves are interesting.” (Chorong)
“My My,” the title song of this album has many special choreography that show off A Pink’s unique charms. If “I Don’t Know” emphasized on innocence and purity, this song added lively and fresh charms to innocence and purity.
“This talks about a girl who has a crush. If ‘I Don’t Know’ was a shy yet womanly song, this song is a bit more lively and dynamic. It also suits well with winter. It’s good to listen on Christmas, and I think it’s a good song to make a confession.” (Chorong)
“During our preparations, we tried to find the song style that goes well with A Pink. Because we wanted to show you the prettiest and most innocent looks of us. The song ‘My My’ is the result of all our hard work.” (Eunji)
A Pink didn’t try to make drastic change on the second album because A Pink thought that it’s not enough to show their fresh and lively charms with only their first album. During the three month hiatus, they were determined to firmly establish their reputation in the music market that likes drastic changes.
“We thought that we would be starting our activities soon after ‘I Don’t Know’ but it took a while to come back. We tried our best to make the best song possible and all our members actively participated during the long hiatus.” (Chorong)
“Finding the musical color that suits us well, and working on the songs took longer than we had expected. We recorded many songs because we wanted to make the best songs.” (Yoo Kyung)
New tries could be seen in the new album. “Yeah” has a powerful beat unlike other songs, and “Like A Dream” is a first ballad song of A Pink.
The title song “My My” is a collaboration between hit song writer Shinsadong Tiger and Rado. The male voice that can be heard between seven girls’ voices is the voice of the songwriter, Rado.
“Songwriter Rado sang the chorus for us. The song sounded different because there is a man singing. He sings in the intro, chorus, and the parts of Eunji and Nam Joo. It will sound a lot different than just seven girls singing the song.” (Ha Young)
On stage, they show off lively and fresh charms but also are easy going and determined off stage. Expectations are on the rise as to what they will show next year.
“We want to be well known to the public. We want to display our unique color so the fans can look forward to our new albums. Not only that, we want to be an idol group that people of all ages like.” (Na Eun)
“Our current image suits us best. I think it’s beautiful and natural. We will reveal new charms on upcoming albums starting from the next album. Please look forward to it.” (Yoo Kyung)
