Four member group 2NE1 have recently made headlines after making a big donation of 20 million won (approximately $17,000) to hearing impaired children at Yonsei University's Severance hospital.
On January 18th, 2NE1 visited the Yonsei Severance hospital to personally deliver the donation as well as meeting the children and giving them messages of support.
The children on the ward along with their families received gifts from the members of 2NE1 during a signing session as well as other events.
Previous to starting the signing session, the members of 2NE1 gave their New Year greetings to the children and their families. This weekend is the start of the Lunar New Year holidays in Korea with Lunar New Year itself taking place on the 23rd of January.
It was also maknae Minzy's birthday who commented "I'm happy that I can be together with you all on my birthday". The leader of 2NE1, CL, also added "Thank you for giving this opportunity to help and we hope we can be of more assistance in the future."
The donation given by 2NE1 will be used to buy hearing aids for the hearing-impaired children that are in low income families.
