YG Entertainment, the management agency for Korean acts such as Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en, Gummy, and others, is reported to be starting their own global advancement by opening new offices. On the 15th of March, YG Entertainment revealed that they are nearing the launch of their new office branches and will be opening them in the United States and Hong Kong.
"YG USA" will be their office in charge of their artists' U.S advancement and "YG Hong Kong" will be managing the artists' Asian market advancement.
YG Entertainment has been preparing for their global advancement since Spring of last year and further revealed that they are working hard in preparing for the launch of their new offices. The announcement was made in advance so they can hype the formal launch.
Meanwhile, "YG USA" and "YG Hong Kong" will be collaborating with their local agency and will help the artists in their overseas expansions and schedules. The move will avoid the traditional way of hiring coordinators and organizers in the country that the artists will be advancing in. Instead, the artists will now be able to work with their own company's branch staff.
Aside from that, YG Entertainment has been using social media websites such as YouTube and Twitter as marketing tools to promote their artists worldwide. Through this, their artists were able to top the charts in iTunes and other international music charts, even without overseas promotions.
