KARA has set yet another record on Japan's Oricon Charts with the release of their 2nd Japanese studio album "Super Girl"! On November 23rd, KARA's "Super Girl" went on sale and it was revealed this week that the album has sold over 275,000 copies of the album in just a single week.
With this new record, KARA has broken Girls' Generation's previous record of 232,000 copies sold of an album sold in a single week.
In addition to "Super Girl" reaching 275,000 copies sold in a week, KARA's Japanese single "Jet Coaster Love" has also topped the Oricon Weekly Charts for singles.
The chart topping album and single makes KARA the first foreign female group to take #1 in both weekly categories in 30 years after Irish female group The Nolans.
Meanwhile, KARA is up for the grand prize at the 53rd Japan Record Awards for the single "Go Go Summer!", which is set to air on December 30th at TBS.
