Girls’ Generation’s concerts recorded the largest audience turnouts among Korean groups as they completed their 2nd Asian solo tour successfully.
Since May 31st last year, Girls’ Generation had performed 14 concerts in 6 cities (Osaka, Saitama, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagoya and Fukuoka) for their ’1st Japan Arena Tour’ and also 9 concerts for the ‘Girls’ Generation Tour’ in 5 cities (Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok). The total of 23 concerts in 11 cities have recorded an astounding accumulative attendance of about 230,000 fans.
The final stop of the ‘Girls’ Generation Tour’ took place in Impact Arena, Bangkok on February 12th. At the 3-hour concert, Girls’ Generation performed 32 songs altogether which include hit songs such as ‘Gee’, ‘Tell Me Your Wish’, ‘Hoot’ and other songs from their Korean and Japanese albums, individual stages as well as ‘The Boys’ in front of about 11,000 fans.
During the concert, fans filled the venue in pink by waving their lightsticks, singing along to the songs as well as doing the fan chants in Korean. In addition to that, special events were also prepared for the girls. During the performance on ‘Complete’, papers containing the message ’785 DAYS OF WAITING, FINALLY WE MEET’ were raised simultaneously. After that, there was also a surprise event where paper planes were thrown towards the stage. The girls who were impressed and touched by the fan events, could not hold back their tears.
The concert which was the finale of the 2nd tour also marked Girls’ Generation’s first concert in Thailand. Since their arrival in Bangkok, they were warmly greeted by huge number of fans who flocked to the airport to welcome them. Ahead of the concert, the girls had also attended a press conference in front of many local media groups such as True Music, TNN, etc.
After the concert, Girls’ Generation said, “We are happy to be able to feel the warm love from all of you (fans). This is an unforgettable moment that we will keep in our hearts always. Our sincere thanks to everyone who has been with us throughout the ‘Girls’ Generation Tour’. In the future, we will be working hard in order to see you guys again with much greater performances”.
Girls’ Generation will be back in Korea on February 13th (morning).
